Besides racing, one popular source of inspiration is overseas. Many cars were sold with slight (or sometimes even major) cosmetic differences in different markets. Some were even sold under different names, such as the car sold as the 240SX in the United States being related to the 180SX and Sylvia from the Japanese market. Owners of Japanese cars often look to JDM (Japanese domestic market) cars for sources of customizing parts, while European car owners can also get different parts from their car’s homeland.
