Torches and Welding
You normally do not need a torch when you start working on cars. Many people put together excellent cars without any welding. However, if you want to make custom headers, repair rust, or make your own parts from sheet metal, you will want a welding torch. In fact, you may want a couple of different kinds of torches.
Gas welding with an oxyacetylene torch requires a considerable amount of practice. You probably won’t want a very large gas torch unless you already know how to weld with one or plan to do a lot of cutting.
