An engine is a complicated machine with hundreds of parts. However, in this chapter, we’re covering what is often the simpler set of engine mods, the kind you can install without taking the engine almost completely apart. These are intake and exhaust mods, and it’s possible to get a decent understanding of what you need here without looking too much inside the engine. In this case, simpler mods can start with a simpler understanding. We’ll go over the internal workings of the engine and how to modify those parts in the next chapter.
