Internal engine work and other hardcore mods can turn your motor into a monster. Whether this is a monstrous amount of horsepower or simply a beast to drive in traffic will depend on how well you choose your parts. Parts that work poorly together can hurt horsepower, cause the car to run poorly, and shorten the life of your engine. Even a well-chosen set of naturally aspirated mods that makes an enormous improvement in horsepower may result in a horsepower gain only at the top of the RPM range and worse performance at low RPM. An all-out racing engine may not even be able to idle below 2,000 RPM. Building large amounts of naturally aspirated power has trade-offs, and getting greedy can make a car truly unpleasant as a daily driver. ...
