It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Changing the SSH default port
SSH runs on port 22. The entire world knows this, including the hackers. One of the tests has shown that changing the default configuration from port 22 to a random ephemeral port reduced the attack surface by 75% for brute-force attempts.
