Import the CentOS 7 repository

One of the main reasons why organizations use Spacewalk is for centralized patching activity.

Due to this, we need to make sure that our Spacewalk server repository is insync with the repository maintained by the distribution we use. In our case, it is CentOS 7.

CentOS 7 manages two important repositories:

• CentOS base
• CentOS updates

We need to clone packages from both these repositories to our Spacewalk server.

In order to achieve this, we need to go ahead with the following steps:

1. Inside Channels | Manage Software Channels | click on Create New Channel:

These channels will be organized in a systematic manner in the following structure:

• • CentOS 7
  • c7-base
  • c7-updates

2. Once you click on Create Channel ...
