Integrating the Lambda function with events

The real power of Lambda lies in its integration with various other services.

We can integrate our Lambda function with many AWS services; however, since our use case needs something like cron, we will use the CloudWatch event triggers and integrate them with the Lambda function.

1. Go to CloudWatch| Events| Rules and under Event Source, click on the Schedule button.
2. Under Schedule, select the Cron expression button and you will have the option to define the cron. In our case, we will use 0 20 * * ? *, which means every day at 8 p.m.
