The preceding emulation works on the basis of the QEMU and NVRAM emulator. NVRAM is a component which firmware accesses in order to get information from the device. However, since there is no physical device present, it will result in an error or crashing of the service making the call. This is where the NVRAM emulator comes into the picture. The Firmadyne toolkit also modifies the firmware for debugging purposes to give the user access to the console.
