It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Analyzing FM
- The first thing that we will do in order to get started with SDR is look at the frequency spectrum using RTL-SDR. This will give us a better understanding of how everything works and get us started with reconnaissance of SDR-based devices.
- To do this, plug your RTL-SDR into your system. Ensure that the RTL-SDR is connected to your virtual machine if you are using one.
- Next, open up GQRX and select the RTL-SDR device during the initial launch menu. Here, as you can see, we have different sections:
