When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Getting ready
For obtaining firmware, there are some tools we will need to install. We will be using Kali Linux which has most of the tools we need installed by default. Here are the tools you will need:
- Kali Linux: Kali Linux is available for download via their site at https://www.kali.org/downloads/. It is recommended to use the Kali virtual images if you use VMware or VirtualBox, which can be found here https://www.offensive-security.com/kali-linux-vmware-virtualbox-image-download/.
- Ettercap: Although Kali Linux has Ettercap installed by default, it is also available for download via https://ettercap.github.io/ettercap/downloads.html.
- Wireshark: Wireshark is included in Kali Linux by default and is also available for download at http://www.wireshark.org ...
