When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Getting ready
For this recipe, an already jailbroken iDevice is needed, as well as a free tool known as idb. Idb is a free tool that runs on OS X, and Ubuntu is used for simplifying common iOS app security assessment tasks. It is currently installed in the accompanied virtual machine but can also be installed manually by visiting idb's webpage at http://www.idbtool.com/. If you are using gem to manage Ruby, idb can be installed using gem install idb.
As of writing this, iOS 10 applications are not supported by idb.
To view SQLite database entries, download and install sqlitebrowser via http://sqlitebrowser.org. SQLite browser has been included in the VM provided for this book as well.
