So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Memory types
Some of the most important components in embedded devices are related to data storage, which can be used by the device for a number of purposes. This is where you will be able to find things such as the firmware and application programming interface (API) keys. The three primary categories of memory types in embedded devices, along with their subdivisions, are as follows:
- Random Access Memory (RAM)
- Static RAM (SRAM)
- Dynamic RAM (DRAM)
- Read Only Memory (ROM)
- Programmable ROM (PROM)
- Erasable Programmable ROM (EPROM)
- Hybrid
- Electrically Erasable Programmable ROM (EEPROM)
- Flash
