So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How to do it...
There are many variables and considerations to take into account when implementing a secure update ecosystem for embedded IoT devices. Certain architectures, SoCs, or bootloaders may not have the ability to perform all the required actions to employ a resilient firmware update system. Due to the complexity and variations in employing a secure update system, we will address high-level actions manufacturers should incorporate into their firmware update design. For simplicity, we will use Embedded Linux as our platform and provide the requirements needed for a secure update system.
