7.1.3 A Short History
The ASIP Meister was formerly called the PEAS-III system, which was developed
in collaboration with the Toyohashi University of Technology, Osaka and Shizuoka
Universities, the Tsuruoka National College of Technology, and the Semiconductor
Technology Academic Research Center (STARC), Japan. PEAS-III research was
launched in 1995, and PEAS-III was rewritten and released in 2002 as ASIP Meister.
The ASIP Meister had been distributed among academia from 2002 to 2005,
and the number of registered users was 180 from 37
