4.1 INTRODUCTION

nML is a hierarchical and highly structured architecture description language (ADL),

at the abstraction level of a programmer’s manual. It models a processor in a concise

way for a retargetable processor design and software development tool suite. nML

has been carefully designed to contain the right amount of hardware knowledge as

required by these tools for high-quality results.
