To reduce the complexity of processor design, researchers proposed an abstract
modeling of the modern embedded processor via Architecture Description
Languages (ADLs). The a bstract processor model, in effect, serves as an executable
specification for early design space exploration. The Language for Instruction Set
Architecture (LISA), an uniform ADL, is elaborated in this chapter. LISA supports
