I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Creating event field mappings
When events are generated from different event sources, the incoming event source value might be different than the value in event management application. Event field mapping helps to identify which field from event source maps to which field in ServiceNow table. Once the event rules are executed, the event field mapping occurs and then the alerts are generated. Follow the steps for creating event field mappings.
- From the application navigator type event field mapping, then click on Event Field Mapping under Event Management | Rules to list all the existing Event Field Mappings.
