Adding Your Own Content from Other Applications

If you’re anything like me, you have folders full of PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets, and Word documents. The good news is, when you start working with your interactive whiteboard, you’re not starting over from scratch — you can import the content you’ve saved in other applications. After your content is imported, you can use the full functionality of the interactive whiteboard and SMART Notebook software and prepare a presentation or lesson that will bring life to your old material.

There are a number of different ways you can bring your content into SMART Notebook. In this section, I show you the different ways you can reuse your old content.

Copying, cutting, and pasting content

The simplest and most familiar method for adding your content to a SMART Notebook file is to copy/cut and paste. Follow these steps:

1. Open the file from which you want to copy content (for example, a Microsoft Word document).

2. Select the content you want to use, and choose EditCopy or EditCut.

3. Open an existing SMART Notebook file or a new one.

If you’re using an existing SMART Notebook file, use the Page Sorter to navigate to the place where you want to paste your content.

4. Choose EditPaste.

The new content appears in your .notebook page.
