Hardware Management Service (HMS)
The HMS allows SDDC Manager to be able to interact with the physical hardware in the rack. It is shown in the following diagram:

The HMS enables the necessary functions required for discovering, bootstrapping, and monitoring the hardware in a physical rack in the system. The HMS out-of-band agent runs on the management switch of each physical rack.
The HMS is an abstracted software technique that manages the physical components in the racks, such as servers and network switches. SDDC Manager leverages the HMS potential (abstracting the hardware) to integrate hardware from different sources. ...
