VMware suggests using the Virtual SAN Sizing Tool for the actual number of hosts and storage sizing for the cluster from compute, storage, and network perspectives. We should use eight or more hosts in the cluster to support the configured fault domains for proper availability and recovery. The actual datastore size and number of hosts is based on the applications/virtual machines being hosted on vSAN datastore.
