Migrated virtual machine framework
When migrating a physical machine to a virtual machine, the best practice is to standardize the configuration for the virtual environment. The following framework will be applied as a baseline for the virtual machine configuration:
- CPU, RAM, and storage specifications will be based on average utilization and a mutually agreed growth percentage (15%)
- The virtual network adapter will be configured to VMXNET 3 where possible
- The virtual SCSI adapter will be LSI Logic SAS where possible
- Disks will be thin-provisioned where possible
