Network File System (NFS)
NFS is a protocol for file-based storage to assist a user on a customer system to access files over a network. ESXi host, which leverages NFS as a backend datastore and the storage, is provisioned by a NFS-capable external storage array existing within the same SoftLayer deployment as the central cloud or cloud region.
