I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Failover order
Uplinks to a virtual switch (vSwitch or dvSwitch) can be teamed up to control their participation in a failover configuration, by designating them as active, standby, or unused uplinks. This is done to provide for failover, performance, and redundancy:
- Active adapters are available for use in any configuration and will carry traffic
- Standby adapters act as the backup to active adapters and will be made active only if any of the active adapters fail
- Unused adapters cannot be used in any configuration of the virtual switch construct (vSwitch, standard port group, dvPortGroup, or dvPort)
