So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How it works...
The backup taken is a snapshot of the current dvSwitch configuration. The ZIP archive created will contain the dvSwitch data in binary format. However, the ZIP archive does contain a data.xml file with dvSwitch metadata:
This backup ZIP archive can be used to restore the dvSwitch configuration or to create a dvSwitch in a new data center.
