I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
INDIVIDUAL INITIATIVES
There were some outstanding initiatives in India from individual personalities even before the concept of corporate governance gained currency. J. R. D. Tata, from the time he took over the reins of the group till his death, ran the Tata industrial empire professionally, unlike other family-run businesses. Under his guidance, the Tata Group produced some outstanding CEOs. His belief in keeping business and politics separate did give the group a great deal of credibility and brought him laurels, and won the trust of everybody. The man who believed in empowerment never craved for power, money or glory. He ensured that the House of Tatas followed corporate governance practices in all its forms, both in the letter and spirit. ...
