THE BEGINNING AND GROWTH

In the 1890s, Jamsetji Tata conceived of a dream project—a modern steel plant, with stsate-of-the-art-technology to produce 1 million tonnes of steel. Work on the steel plant commenced in 1907 in Jamshedpur which became operational in 1912.
