It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
本書（英語版）は自己完結的に執筆されています。クリーンな HTML5
と、OReillyのHTMLBook 規格（oreillymedia.github.io/HTMLBook）
で定義されたいくつかのdata‐属性を使って記述しました。つまり、本書
で目にするものすべて（レイアウトや画像そして色も含む）は CSSを使っ
てスタイルが指定されています。画像についても、SVGを使って描画した
ものや SVGのデータURI（ SCSS を使って生成しました）を利用したもの
が多数あります。一部の数式は LaTeX を使って記述し、内部で MathML
に変換しています。ページ番号や章番号、シークレットの番号は CSSのカ
ウンターを使って生成しています。
近年では、OReilly が出版する書籍の多くで同様の仕組みが取り入れら
れています。このシステムは「Atlas」と名づけられています（atlas.
oreilly.com）。Atlasは OReilly 社内で使われるだけでなく、誰でも利用
できるという特長があります。
ただし、本書は Atlas の典型的な利用例というわけではありませんでし
た。筆者の知る限り他に例のないやり方で、印刷用のCSSの限界に挑んだ
のが本書です。Atlasや AntennaHouse（Atlas が内部で利用する PDF 生成
プログラム）に多数のバグが発見されたほか、印刷関連のCSSの仕様自体
にも問題点がたくさん見つかりました。もちろん、仕様の問題点は
