数年前に擬似クラスの :nth‐child()や:nth‐of‐type()が導入され
た時、これらは主にゼブラストライプ（図5.8 のように、 2 つの色が行ご
とに交互に現れる模様）の表を作るのに使われていました。かつては、こ
のような模様の生成にはサーバーサイドのコードやクライアントサイドの
スクリプトあるいは手作業でのハードコードが必要でした。しかし現在は
下のように、わずかなコードだけでゼブラストライプを作れるようになり
