Refreshing the Shelf

Refreshing the shelf requires shelf management or “detailing” on a regular basis. Typically, retailers or manufacturers hire firms to come to the store on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis to restock, clean, and generally manage the physical retail presence. Some retailers prefer to perform this service internally.

When companies refresh the shelf at retail, they ensure that the presentation is good—products are facing the right way, torn or damaged products are removed, and the pegs or bins are restocked.
