Curating Images for an Album
When you’ve selected both your album company and design program (see the preceding section), the next thing you need to consider is how to choose the images for your wedding albums. There are three schools of thought on the issue:
Choosing all the images and designing the album on your own: The first option you have when it comes to curating the images for your wedding albums is to choose all the images yourself. With this option, the entirety of the design is left up to you. As you go through the photos from a wedding, you select which ones you believe are the absolute best and arrange them in a pleasing manner. The benefit to this option is that you don’t have to wait for input or feedback from the couple, which can make the turnaround time much faster. The only drawback to this option is that there is a possibility that you may exclude a few photos that have special significance to your couple.
Giving your clients the option to choose all the images: Your second option is the exact opposite of the first. Here, you give your clients the edited proofs or a DVD of all their wedding photos and allow them to select every image to be included in their wedding album.
