So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Planning Ahead to Maximize Coverage
When you know your second shooter’s skill level (see the preceding section), the next thing you can do is to plan ahead by thinking of a role for your second shooter to maximize coverage during the wedding day. Delegating tasks can not only help to ease some of the pressure that comes with the time constraints of the schedule but also help to broaden the variety of photos you give to your newlyweds.
For example, you may decide to assign the role of “photojournalistic photographer” to your second shooter for the formal portrait segment of the day. That way you can get portraits and also some sweet candid photos of moments that you would have missed had you been shooting the wedding alone. Another great example of maximizing coverage is during the ceremony. If you place yourself at the front of the church or venue to snap pictures of the wedding party coming toward you, consider placing your second shooter at the back or up on a balcony to take photos from another perspective.
