File Translation

File Translation is the part of File Exchange that enables you to open documents that were created by applications that are not installed on your computer. This feature works with PC and Mac OS files, using mappings in the PC Exchange tab and translation preferences in the File Translation tab of the File Exchange window.

To use file translation

1.
Double-click an icon for a file created by an application not installed on your computer.

One of two things happens:
