AD snapshots

When we work with virtual servers, we must understand how snapshots are important for a faster recovery process. Snapshots allow us to revert the system to a previous working state with minimum impact.

It is not recommended to take snapshots and restore domain controllers using this method, as it will create integrity issues with other existing domain controllers and their data.

With Windows Server 2008, Microsoft introduced the AD snapshot feature, which takes a snapshot of an AD database at a given time.
