I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
The ATA Lightweight Gateway
The ATA Lightweight Gateway component can be directly installed on domain controllers to monitor AD traffic without the need for port mirroring. This is the quickest way to get ATA up and running. However, it will increase the resource requirements of the domain controllers.
Both gateways do the following things:
- Capture and inspect domain controller network traffic.
- Receive Windows events from different data sources, such as Security information and event management (SIEM), syslog servers, and Windows Event Forwarding (WEF).
- Retrieve data about users and computers from the AD domain.
- Perform resolution of network entities (users, groups, and computers).
- Transfer the relevant data to the ATA Center.
