Windows' down-level devices

The following are Windows' down-level devices:

• Windows 8.1
• Windows 7
• Windows Server 2012 R2

Before registering down-level devices, we need to install an agent (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53554). This can be pushed to computers using SCCM or GPOs. We will also explain this further in Chapter 17, Azure Active Directory Hybrid Setup.

There are a few things you need to bear in mind before you consider the hybrid Azure AD join method:

• If Windows 10 devices are already Azure AD joined, we need to remove those settings before enabling hybrid Azure AD join. Dual registration is not supported.
