Setting up an additional domain controller

In this scenario, we are going to look into installing an additional domain controller in an existing Active Directory domain. Before we look into this, there are a few prerequisites that need to be fulfilled:

• Environment setup: Before we promote the physical server or VM that's going to be used as the additional domain controller, it needs to be added to the existing Active Directory domain. If the additional domain controller is going to be a DNS server, set its own IP address as the primary DNS server in the NIC settings and the existing domain controller IP address as the secondary DNS server.
