WS-Trust

This is part of many WS* standards, including WS-Security, WS-Federation, and the WS-Security policy. WS stands for Web Services. WS-Trust defines the protocols used in requesting and issuing security tokens by WS-Security. Security Token Service (STS) is a big feature of WS-Trust, and it can be used to convert locally issued security tokens into other security token formats that can be understood by the application. It can also convert incoming security tokens into supported token formats.
