Policies — if you're an operational DBA, they can change your world. IT database operations are more consistent, and your life should become smoother. Indeed, Policy-Based Management (PBM) is a completely new animal, and it will take some time to build up a set of good conditions and policies, but when it's all put together, it will have been worth it.
