Using Templates to Create Virtual Machines and Configuring Resources

The previous chapter covered how to create templates, both using an existing virtual machine as the source of the template or using the Template Builder. Templates are probably the best way to create a virtual machine because they are based on an actual functioning system. You can create a template from any virtual machine that is currently running in your environment, and as you will see in Chapter 18, you can even take a VMware virtual machine or a physical machine and convert it into a virtual machine and subsequently save that as a template.
