Hardware Prerequisites for Oracle VM Server

The hardware requirements for Oracle are very minimalistic. Oracle recommends that you have at least one dual-core CPU and at least 2GB of RAM. In addition, 2GB of swap space and 4GB of disk space is required. As with most software vendors, the minimum requirements don’t allow for any functionality, such as installing actual virtual machines.

Since sizing was covered in the last chapter it won’t be repeated, except to remind you that it is important to perform a sizing exercise.
