Using OVM CLI

OVM CLI will be covered throughout this book, thus only a brief overview of how to use it is provided in this chapter. As mentioned earlier, the OVM CLI is invoked via the ovm command. The ovm command takes a number of qualifiers that either run specific commands or invoke an interactive shell. This interactive shell allows you to run multiple commands without having to log in repeatedly using a VM Manager username and password.

To get a listing of the qualifiers available for the OVM CLI, simply run ovm without any qualifiers. By not providing any qualifiers, the ovm command lists all available qualifiers, as shown here:

[root@test2 ~]# ovm

Usage: ovm [options] subcommand [suboptions]
