Burning In Portraits
This burned-in edge effect adds an amazing amount of warmth to your portraits, and it’s used by professionals everywhere on
everything from magazine covers to print ads to the Web. In fact, once you’ve learned this simple technique, you’ll use it again
and again. (By the way—once you apply this technique, turn the layer with the effect on/off a couple of times and you’ll see what
a huge difference it makes.)
STEP ONE: Open the portrait that you
want to “burn in.”
STEP TWO: Create a new blank layer by
clicking on the Create a New Layer icon
at the top of the Layers palette. Press the ...
