STEP ONE: Create a new document in

RGB mode (the one shown here is 6x8").

Press the G key to switch to the Gradient

tool. In the Options Bar, ensure that the

Linear Gradient icon is selected, then

click on the Edit button to bring up the

Gradient Editor. Click on the third gradi-

ent from the left in the top row (Black to

White). Double-click on the bottom-left

black color stop under the gradient ramp

and choose a dark blue in the resulting

Color Picker. Then, double-click the

bottom-right color stop and choose a

light blue in the Picker. Type “Blue” in
