Digital Pixel Effect
This is one of those classic effects that’s used every time the word “digital” appears on a book cover, a billboard, or a magazine
cover or spread. It makes the image (in our example, a person) look like he’s becoming “digital” because half of the image is
turning into pixels.
STEP ONE: Open the photo you want to
apply the effect to (it’s usually applied to
photos of people, but I’ve seen it used on
product shots as well).
STEP TWO: Duplicate the Background
layer by going under the Layer menu,
under New, and choosing Layer via Copy
