This “carved in stone” technique is more realistic, has more depth, and is basically “more gooder” (as my son would say) than
most “carved” type effects out there. Actually, I just think it’s “bester.”
Carved in Stone
STEP ONE: We’re going to start by open-
ing an appropriate image (this technique
will work with almost any background
image, but honestly, carving in stone
looks best when the background
image is, well…stone). Duplicate the
Background layer by dragging it to the
Create a New Layer icon at the top of
the Layers palette.
STEP TWO: Press D to set your
Foreground color to black. Then press
T to ...
