With every release, products in the Windows NT family line have been made available in a variety of localized versions. With the advent of Windows 2000, Microsoft made available a Multilingual User Interface (MUI) Pack, enabling any of 24 localized user interfaces to be used on a single English-language installation. Windows XP extends MUI support on top of the English installation to a total of 33 localized interfaces. Also, localized Windows XP media is available in 24 language versions in addition to English. Table 5.5 lists the language options available for Windows XP, and whether the option is available in localized media, or as part of the Multilingual User Interface.
