It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Reporting System and Application Errors
When trying to find information about a system or program error, you have the option to report your error directly to Microsoft. Windows XP supports two methods for reporting errors to Microsoft:

Online Crash Analysis Web site
Using the Error Reporting Service
The Error Reporting service monitors your system for OS and application errors and allows you to report them to Microsoft. If similar problems have been reported and information is available about the error, you'll be directed to this information. In addition, you'll be able to track your report on the Online Crash Analysis Web site.
