I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Diagnostic Tools and Utilities
There are several sorts of problems that you can encounter in a network:
Pilot error: entering incorrect paths, filenames, or passwords.
“Soft” problems that occur even with perfectly functioning network connectivity; these are problems such as inadequate security privileges on accounts to access network resources.
“Hard” problems, the failure of network connectivity itself. These can be due to software configuration errors, or hardware failure.
Networks are built in layers, from the nitty-gritty of wiring and hardware up to the more abstract concepts of user permissions, and each layer depends on the ones below it. As I mentioned in the previous section, you can often determine where a problem is located by looking ...
