So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Adding Web Content to Your Desktop
As with earlier versions of Windows, Windows XP allows you to add Web content to your desktop. The content is displayed in small windows which are essentially mini browsers that can be resized and moved around just like your Internet Explorer browser. These windows are sometimes referred to as Active Desktop components, although I'm seeing the term Active Desktop used less than it used to be. Even Windows XP Help refers to these items simply as Web content.
In addition to adding content that displays Web pages, you can add pictures (.bmp, .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .dib, .png) or HTML documents (.htm, .html, .mhtml, .url, .cdf) that are located on your computer or network. The process is basically the same whether adding ...
