Recycle Bin Management
The Recycle Bin is something that rarely gets any notice. While this is usually not a problem, if you have multiple volumes in use or are running tight on drive space, you may want to pay some attention to this often overlooked part of Windows.
There are a few extremely important things that need to be understood about the Recycle Bin. Getting a good grasp on these will prevent you from any surprises or problems when working with deleted files.
Files that are deleted off of network volumes, across the network, are gone forever. These files do not make use of the Recycle Bin.
Files that are deleted off of removable media such as floppy disks and ZIP drives are not recoverable via the Recycle Bin.
